Meeting With Councillors
The most important strategic development since the last update was CHIG’s meeting on 26 June with local councillors, Mark Brunt, Graeme Crome and Raj Rampertab to discuss with them our proposals for the new Canada Hall Community Centre project.
The meeting was extremely positive and the Councillors were impressed both with the scheme and our proposals to implement it, and, more importantly, were generally very supportive of what the project will do for the area.
In particular the Councillors noted the fact that the majority of the Water Colour development fell within the All Saints’ Parish Boundary and that we already had a tried and tested management structure for the current Canada Hall.
The Councillors present undertook to forward the information provided to their colleagues representing the adjoining ward and we look forward to continuing dialogue with the Councillors as the project progresses.
Quality Street Fair and “The Quiz”
In order to further publicise the project, on 7 July CHIG took a stall at the Quality Street Fair, upon which were the drawings for the new proposal and copies of the leaflet previous circulated within the All Saints’ parish. Interest in the stand was constant and brisk and a number of donation forms were taken. Although the aim of our presence was simply to increase awareness of the project we also raised £61.
And thanks to the tireless efforts of the Warner-

We await the outcome of our Stage 1 Lottery Application, but in the meantime I would refer you to Ron Jones’ separate note in this issue on this very important subject.
Further Communication
We hope very shortly to be distributing the Canada Hall leaflet to our neighbouring Parishes. And we will continue to bring you regular updates in this magazine, and elsewhere, of the progress we are making. As ever, by all means direct any questions to me in the first instance and I will either try and answer them myself or direct you to someone who can!
